Ray Fisher

Ray graduated from Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in 1970.  Majoring in pictorial illustration, he began his career as a commercial artist and free lance illustrator in New York City.

In the mid-1980’s, Ray returned to the fine arts. He began working in cast paper and bas-reliefs in metal, wood, paper and polystyrene plastic.  After moving to Santa Fe in 1992, Ray’s focus turned to wood sculpture and designing and building high-end furniture.  Ray’s talent for woodworking can best be appreciated by touring Ten Thousand Waves in Santa Fe. Ray has also designed a line of Corian light fixtures, both table lamps and sconces.

Ray defines himself as a painter/sculptor and intends to focus on a new series of sculptures entitled, “BLOCKS.”
